Fleece
Sleepwear
Fleece sleepwear is very popular for
babies, children and even adults. Fleece material makes for the
coziest, warmest sleepwear around. It feels very soft against
the skin, and lasts well even when it is frequently
machine-washed and dried. Because fleece is a synthetic
material, it is perfect for keeping body heat in and keeping
the cold out. It is very lightweight and breathable, so it
won’t cause your baby to get overheated during the night. One
important safety consideration is that fleece sleepwear should
always be treated with a flame retardant, since it can be quite
flammable without this treatment—which can be a very dangerous
quality for sleepwear. Never purchase fleece sleepwear that is
not specifically flame retardant, and never sleep in fleece
material that is not intended as sleepwear.
Fleece sleepwear comes in a
wide variety of styles and shapes, which can be found ranging
from footed pajamas, to two piece sets, to sleeping bag styles,
to fleece blankets. Fleece was originally invented as an
alternative to wool, and boasts many advantages over the
natural textile, including being far more lightweight,
washable, hypoallergenic, and inexpensive.
Fleece sleepwear can be found
in any color imaginable, and many different patterns and
prints. Fleece sleepwear for girls is often found in pinks,
purples, and yellows, or prints such as flowers, butterflies,
tie dye, princess, or ballerina designs. For boys, colors tend
to be more bright and bold, like royal blue, Kelly green or
red, and some examples of the prints that are popular may be
dinosaurs, fire engines, vehicles, superheroes, cartoon
characters, or cowboys.
One possible drawback to
fleece sleepwear is that it tends to generate a high amount of
static electricity, so it is prone to collecting plenty of
lint, fuzz or pet hair. Inexpensive fleece may also be prone to
pilling after several washings. But for keeping cozy and warm
during the night, you can't beat fleece sleepwear in
comfort!
